Overview
Established on April 10, 2014, with the aim of developing the country's timber resources, CENTRABOIS is a company incorporated under Central African law, committed to conducting its timber harvesting operations according to the principles of sustainable management. It began operations in 2016 following the allocation of the PEA (Exploitation Authorization) by Decree No. 15.328 of August 24, 2015, under number PEA 192, and Decree No. 17.039 of January 21, 2017, extending PEA 192. Thus, the CentraBois permit consists of two lots: Lot A, located in Ombella Mpoko, has a total area of 156,531 hectares, of which 75,552 hectares are usable and taxable. It is defined as follows: 3°34’ and 2°36’ north latitude; 16°10’ and 16°40’ east longitude. It is bordered by: To the North: via the PAMA river going up to the village of BOZERE via the village of KOUNGA; To the South: via the LESSE river to the village of BOMBOKO, reaching the village of SEKIAMOTE, then the village of MODALE; To the West: from the confluence of the PAMA and MBAMBI streams following the BAMBI stream to the village of KOUNGA passing through point 318, then from the village of DIMBANGA and the villages of KALANGOUE, KAPOU 1 passing through point 354 following the KAPOU stream to its confluence with the LESSE stream; To the East: from the village of SEKIAMOTE, reaching the villages of KALADIPA, passing through the villages of BOBASSA, BOKASSI 1 and BOKASSI 2 along the course of the OUBANGUI river. And lot B, located in Lobaye, has a total area of 15,239 hectares, of which 13,000 hectares are usable and taxable. The usable and taxable area of PEA 192 has been reduced for all lots A and B to 71,069 hectares following the revision of the development plan. It is defined as follows: 17°23’ and 17°33’ East longitude; 03°50’ and 04°20’ North latitude CENTRABOIS, like any public limited company, is managed by a board of directors. Its General Management, initially located on the premises of the former Central African Scouting Federation on Avenue Barthélémy BOGANDA, was relocated in 2020 to PK9 on the Mbaïki road, where the company's processing units were installed. The revision of the management plan, jointly carried out by AGDRF and PDRSO, resulted in the signing of the final exploitation-management agreement on November 24, 2018 between the company and the ministry in charge of forests.
